Test automation engineer (with Javascript skills)



Allied Testing software company is looking for a Test automation engineer with Javascript skills.

Key Responsibilities
° Create and design automation test scripts for new features, within an agile context
° Maintain, enhance and execute the existing UI test suite (Cypress) and API tests (Postman &
Cypress)
° Collaborate with other members of the QA Team, Developers, and the Product Management team
to analyse testing requirements, and correctly identify and prioritise automation tasks
° Work with the QA and Product team to understand business requirements, and translate these
into test automation tasks where appropriate
° Help to drive the QA team forward, advising on best tools and practices going forward
° Ensure visibility of test coverage of existing and new systems are up to date

Experience
° Significant experience of writing UI and integration tests in Cypress or other relevant automation
tools
° Experience of API testing using Postman
° Experience of cross device and cross browser testing
° A strong software testing or development background
° Experience of working in ‘agile-like’ teams using Scrum
° Experience of CI/CD build pipelines
° Proficient in Git

Key Skills
° Strong programming skills, preferably JavaScript
° Knowledge of Cypress or other relevant automation frameworks
° Good understanding of API testing
° Knowledge of using CI pipelines
° Comfortable using SQL and Docker
° “Automation first” mind-set
° Software engineering and adherence to best practices
° Strong analytical skills
° Good problem-solving skills
° Good communication skills
